There is a 6 way connector of which I know where 1 connector goes to temp sender however the rest I have no real idea. This compound should also be applied to the tip of the distributor rotor. Would start and quit right away. The wiring is attached via a special snap-on connector. Just notice the black wire from dist to coil is bad, mine was old and cracked and gave me problems. Be sure to get the wiring harnesses connecting the module, distributor, and coil, as well as the male end of the 2-pin connector and some length of its wires.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I was infact rewiring my exisiting ignition system today but im still keen to get this going. Are you sure you are not getting spark and not just a spark that is out of time. Somthing to do with an accelerator position switch maybee??? It is located near the break master cylinder. Hawkrod Thanks for the reply. This is required to be set before the timing is done. Thanks for the tips-I did what you said and the truck did'nt start. The end of the distributor shaft is also larger to accomodate this difference. I hate to sound so stupid but I am trying to become better at my truck repairs but alas I am a novice and need to be walked through like a child. Somthing to do with an accelerator position switch maybee??? Are points set correctly, don't know what size engine you have but my 360 fe is set at 17 mm.

Hawkrod Thank you for the reply. The question is in regard to the connections to the main wiring harness. The pink wire is in 2 pieces, just inside the firewall is a connector take the connector apart and see if you have voltage there. Dont know if I need it. Is voltage drop at the coil less than 8 volts, if so it may not be switching the coil on. At the junkyard, small blocks tend to all look alike.
