Killer Charms by Marianne Stillings

This was a disappointing waste of time. The ghost angle was cool and believable because of the face that the paranormal was brought up in Nate's book. She wrote short stories and poems, none of which were fabulous, but the ideas kept coming, and the magic of putting words on the page delighted her and still does unless she's on deadline. In spite of that, she still adores all animals, especially dogs. The bad guy was revealed in the first few chapters, he told us everything he was about to do, and what he didn't tell us, the author showed us. It was none of the above. .

I also really liked Logan. I felt like the book was a mash up of things. The suspense, too, was well done. And I was hard-pressed to search for the suspense with a magnifying glass and a strong flashlight. As a fan, I was very glad that the last book was as strong as the previous two.

Then, there's the dreams she's been having lately about a woman who lived 100 years ago. If he could really see the future. The ghost mystery melded with the suspense, the two coming together well in the end. I had no connection with Andie as this is the first time you meet her in the series of books. The bad guy was revealed in the first few chapters, he told us everything he was about to do, and what he didn't tell us, the author showed us. Yeah, we knew he was a Scot, just write in damn English and we'll figure out the rest.

Getting the goods on the elusive con man would get Andie out of boring Vice and into Homicide, yet all she can think about is getting into Logan's arms. The dog's name was Nipper. And the big twist about the hero somewhere in the middle? Logan would love to help Andie—and get closer to her—but charm might not be enough to save them now. But juggling her job and her heart leaves her with little time to protect herself from a crazed killer hot on her heels. Logan Sinclair is nothing but a fraud. Sure, the sexy Scotsman may say he's a clairvoyant, but Andie's never believed in second sight—or love at first sight. So why does his sweet talk turn her into a lovestruck fool? Discouraged when they weren't good enough to be published, she stopped writing for a year.

If he could really see the future. Or at least that's what Inspector Andie Darling, undercover on the streets of San Francisco, is determined to prove. If that was the ploy to increase the supposed suspense and make the book more mysterious and paranormal-like it failed on such a scale it's indescribable. Sure, the sexy Scotsman may say he's a clairvoyant, but Andie's never believed in second sight—or love at first sight. Andie was hard to connect with.

He'd know that Andie Darling always gets her man. Sure, the sexy Scotsman may say he's a clairvoyant, but Andie's never believed in second sight—or love at first sight. So why does his sweet talk turn her into a lovestruck fool? They are witty and fun. Marianne Stillings writes contemporary romances with a sassy, feel-good kick. Logan Sinclair is nothing but a fraud. Superfluous fact: At about the age of nine, her grandfather's dog bit Marianne in the face, slicing open the bridge of her nose and missing her left eye by mere fractions of an inch.

Andie Darling, the younger sister of the previous two heroes, comes from a long line of good cops. What was that all about? Though the hero was a hottie and Scottish to boot, what more can a gal want? Because according to those few lines on the back cover this was supposed to be a gripping, hot and sexy, suspenseful book. I found myself skimming the pages more and more toward the end. There were a bunch of loose ends at the end of the book. Logan would love to help Andie—and get closer to her—but charm might not be enough to save them now. Getting the goods on the elusive con man would get Andie out of boring Vice and into Homicide, yet all she can think about is getting into Logan's arms. Superfluous fact: A star-struck movie buff, for a while, Marianne wanted to be an actress, and even went to Hollywood. Superfluous fact: Marianne doesn't have a middle name. She auditioned for a few things, then decided Hollywood was just too weird a place to call home, and left town for Places More Normal. I've read a few of Marianne Stillings books and so far all of them have been worth it and keep me coming back for more. Marianne's mother loved reading and encouraged her to read all the time. Or at least that's what Inspector Andie Darling, undercover on the streets of San Francisco, is determined to prove.

I've read a few of Marianne Stillings books and so far all of them have been worth it and keep me coming back for more. This one was no exception. But it only takes a few days before the cop realizes there's something 'special' about this conman and something wrong with her boss instead. I found myself skimming the pages more and more toward the end. What i didn't like was that that ghosts had no connection with anything having to do with the book.
